Pinterest Inspired - Built-In Bunk Bed Boy's Room

Good morning Y'all! Hope everyone is ready for a fun and fantastic weekend - a long weekend at that!!

Well, our son Cole has been wanting a bunk bed for quite some time now - and although I'm not opposed to the idea - the thought of a white bunk bed with SpongeBob SquarePants splattered all over it - is something I refuse to invest our money in. See Exhibit A below = see what I mean?? It ain't happenin' in this house hold...and God forbid it did happen, well Cole better be prepared to sleep in that thing until he moves out in 15 + years! ha!

SpongeBob Bunk Bed = a hell no!

Well, as I was channeling my attention to Pinterest the other day on my lunch break, I came across a built-in bunk bed that I really liked. I love the idea of the built-in shelves on each side for storing books and knick knacks as well as  incorporating a study area for him as he gets older.

We have an enormous upstairs bedroom that will soon be Cole's room once he's ready to move upstairs. And should he still want a bunk bed by the time he moves upstairs - maybe...just maybe we can hire Uncle Danny to construct and build one just like the one I found on Pinterest.

Hope you all have a wonderful and safe weekend. We will be heading to Kansas City soon for a fun-filled day of Legoland, SeaLife and shopping, of course.

As always, THANKS for stopping by!!

Fashion Friday - Maxi Skirts

Happy Friday Y'all!!

Super excited about two things today - the first being it's Fashion Friday and I get to link-up with the wonderful Kori from Blonde Episodes and the second would be I'm in for a three day weekend!!

Well, I'm quite envious of those fashionista's that can pull off wearing Maxi Skirts. Although, I do not have a Maxi Skirt I've been seriously considering purchasing one or maybe two this weekend on our quick trip to Kansas City. We (the hubs, Cole and I) plan to meet up with some friends so we can take the boys to Legoland and SeaLife - which is going to be quite fun I'm sure of. And since I've been wanting to go to an H & M Store for quite sometime, us girls plan to go and I'm super excited about that.

Here are just a few Maxi Skirts I found on Pinterest that I really like and would appreciate any feedback in regards to whether you would or would not wear a Maxi Skirt......

Be sure to head on over to Kori's for Fashion Friday and link-up. Hope you all have a wonderful Friday and awesome weekend!

As always, THANKS for stopping by!!

Product of the Week - Planters NUT-rition Energy Mix

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Excited to be linking up with Aly from Analyze This and Tiffanie from Pineapples & Pickles for another "Product of the Week".

How many of you out there love Planters Nuts? Well, I certainly do so when I decided to one day take a packet of my husband's Planters NUT-rition Energy Mix with me to work - boy was I in for a treat. I can see exactly why he loves these snacks. They are delish and I highly recommend trying out a box. Each packet is mixed with an assortment of savory almonds, peanuts, walnuts and pecans combined with the sweetness of dark chocolate-covered soy nuts and the crunchiness of honey roasted sesame sticks that help to provide a natural lasting source of energy in each snack pack.
Each box contains 7 1.25 oz snack packs in it and are just the right size to throw in your purse when you're on the go. Each snack pack contains 180 calories and again - these snack packs are delicious.

Hope you enjoyed my "Product of the Week" and as always, THANKS for stopping by.

P.S. I was not paid for this review as this review is based on my own personal experience from eating this delish product and was purchased by me for my husband and my own personal use.

Today I'm Thankful For.....

Happy Tuesday Y'all!!

I woke up this morning with such a peaceful feeling within my soul. Can't quite explain it, however, I feel good things coming my way. Guess it's probably God's way of letting me know everything is going to be A-OK.

Today, I'm so thankful and grateful that my baby is feeling soooo much better. He actually ate a bowl of cereal and has such a beautiful smile on his face. Poor little fella had not been feeling well for almost 4 days running a high temp and not eating - but today God has answered our prayers and Cole is feeling great. I love that child with all my heart and feel so blessed that God chose me to be his mother.

Today, I'm also so thankful and grateful for God bringing my wonderful husband into my life almost 18 years ago. Yep, we argue like most couples do - but I can not imagine my life without him. He's been my support system during this whole cancer nightmare and I just love him with all my heart.

Today, I'm so thankful and grateful that God has helped me endure my battle against breast cancer the last 16 months. I know I still have a ways to travel but knowing that God, my husband and son are by my side only makes things more bearable.

Today, I'm so thankful and grateful for my life and everything that God has provided for me and my family.....

Monday Mashup with Mrs. Monologues

Happy Monday Y'all!!

Well, it's Monday...duh!?! and I'm linking up with Mrs. Monologues for another addition of "Monday Mashup". If you don't know Mrs. Monologues and would like to get to know her, please check her out here

1. Well, I'm home today with a sick child that refuses to eat and continues to run a temp of 102. The hubs and I took him to one of those weekend clinics yesterday and the doc says he has a viral gastrointestinal infection that has to run it's course. Well, it's going on 4 days now and my baby refuses to eat so I'm taking him to his regular pediatrician today and will beg Dr. Payton to give him something that will relieve his temp (as the damn children's tylenol ain't cutting it) - plus I hate giving him medicine that doesn't seem to work.

2. Cole graduated Pre-K last Thursday and he informed everyone when ask on the stage what he wanted to be when he grows up and he says - "I would like to be a policeman, a dad and to marry Brooklyn". Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for the "5-0" aka "The PoPo" but having worked in law enforcement as an intern with the Crime Scene Search Unit in Little Rock while working on my Bachelors in Criminal Justice and Psychology - that would be a negative son. We have already informed you that you will go to medical school and become a doctor or surgeon and not an attorney like your father (those are your father's words not mine) but a "PoPo" you will not be. I don't have a problem with you wanting to be a dad or to marry Brooklyn - but face it son, you are only 5 and should not be thinking about things like that right now - you are too young for marriage and to be thinking about becoming a dad right now.

My little Pre-K Graduate

"I would like to be a policeman" - uhhhh, you are going to medical school son because momma wants you to find a cure for cancer.

Cole and his "girlfriend" Brooklyn

3. As the old saying goes: "Nice guys finish last" or at least "second" for the second time. On last night's Celebrity Apprentice, Aresenio Hall won out over Clay Aiken - but I was happy with either one of them winning the title. I like that both guys made it to the final two over Aubrey O'Day or Lisa Lampanelli. Aubrey was just too full of herself and Lisa was just too over-dramatic for me.  But I think Trump made the right decision and both charities are the overall winners to me in the battle for Celebrity Apprentice.

4. I wish we lived near a Zara or H&M for that matter. Well, several weeks back as I was reading one of many fashion blogs I read daily - Lindsey from Saucy Glossie aka TJ Maxx's Fashion Maxxinista - had on this Striped Blazer from Zara that I would love to get my hands on. I haven't seen it on Zara's website and she blogged that she recently picked it up at a Zara store so I'm hoping it's a new item that will be available on their website soon. Should any of you bloggers out there have seen it in your local Zara store, please email me as I am on the hunt for this jacket.

Said jacket from Zara worn by Lindsey Calla of Saucy Glossie that I would love to get my hands on. I need this jacket in my life so keeping my fingers crossed I can find it.....

5. I'm thinking of giving my blog a makeover and would love any suggestions any of you may have. Ideas and blog designer names are welcome.

6. Tonight I plan to get my hair "conditioned" aka colored. Not only is my hair coming back in curly (before cancer and chemo I had straight dark brown hair) it also has a lot of gray in it. I'm not really down with the salt & pepper hair color look so before my hairdresser/friend leaves for the Bahama's - this momma is getting her hair "conditioned".

Well, the little man and I are headed out to go see his pediatrician so we can get him to feeling better. Hope you all enjoyed my Monday Mashup with Mrs. Monologues and as always, THANKS for stopping by!

Show Us Your House - Kid's Room

Well, I'm a tad bit late (by 6 days) in linking up with Sarah over at Thrifty Decor Chick for another monthly installment of "Show Us Your House" - Kid's Room(s) addition - but hey, it's better late than never....right!?! This month Sarah has turned our attention to Kid's Rooms which is still a work in progress in our home. Our son's room is a hodge-podge of his favorite things like McQueen, Star Wars, Lego's...just to name a few - but it's his room and it expresses him and all things boy.

His drapes and valance were designed by Amy at M Grace Fabrics in Bentonville, Arkansas

Bedding purchased at Target last year. Although I'm not a fan of Spongebob, Cole likes the Spongebob pillow so he's a keeper I guess. Cole is a humongous fan of Thomas The Train so he likes to sleep with his Thomas the Train Pillow Pet at night

The bed was actually his crib that converted to a toddler bed and now a full size bed...oh, and there's that crazy Spongebob again...The bed was purchased from a store in Little Rock by the name of Pickles & Ice Cream

Changing table/dresser - purchased at Pickles & Ice Cream in Little Rock, AR. Lamp purchased at Home Dept and Airplane/Spaceship framed pictures purchased at Target. His desk in the corner houses all his favorite toys - Woody, Lego's, Buzz Lightyear and Thomas the Train stuff galore

Framed pictures from Target - love that store!!

Cole's Armoire houses all his books inside and a hodge podge of pictures on top. The framed outerspace picture on top of the armoire came from Hobby Lobby - another store that I just love

The hubs had this artwork commissioned by a lady in Little Rock, Arkansas right before Cole was born. The two cats flying in the plane behind the place that is suppose to be Cole flying it is our cats Buddy and JD. The artwork is titled "Cole & Friends". The painting hangs over Cole's bed in his room....I will forever cherish this piece of artwork because my sweet dear husband came up with this idea.

Chair/glider purchased from Pickles & Ice Cream in Little Rock, AR. I spy another Spongebob hidden against the stuff toys on that chair - and Cole and his dad are Dallas Cowboy fans, of course.

Hope you enjoyed a tour of Cole's room. As always, THANKS for stopping by!
